Gov’t, Top Broadcasters Sign Statutes on Digital TV Platform Operation

The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Cambodian Television Alliance, signed on 1 November the “Company Statute” to operate the “Cambodian Digital Television” company.

According to the statute, there are 7 board members, 1 representative from the Royal Government and 6 representatives from the Cambodian Television Alliance, with Lok Chumteav Hun Mana being elected as Chairman of the Board for the first term.

The establishment of ‘The Cambodian Digital TV Platform’ is a joint venture between three major broadcasters: Lok Chumteav Hun Mana’s Bayon TV and Royal Group’s CBS and Digital Sky owned by Oknha Kith Meng and Hang Meas TV Group chairman Oknha Eng Chhay Ngoun.

“Cambodia Digital TV Platform” will provide digital TV services with a wide range of programs and a wide range of high-quality options to enhance the provision of information, knowledge, and entertainment to people throughout the country.

It will participate with the Royal Government of Cambodia requiring all analog television stations to switch to digital broadcast by 2025.
