Government Launches Investment Program for North-eastern Provinces

Prime Minister Hun Manet has announced a special investment program targeting Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri from 2025 to 2028. The initiative aims to attract private investment in agriculture, agro-industry, and tourism, leveraging the region’s rich natural resources and tourism potential.

Key features of the program include tax and customs incentives, attractive financing options, and streamlined administrative processes for Qualified Investment Projects. This will support both new and existing investments, particularly in nature and eco-tourism that celebrates local culture and history.

Notably, the recent withdrawal from the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Agreement won’t deter efforts in these provinces. Infrastructure projects, including a border ring road, are 40% complete, reflecting the government’s commitment to sustainable development and economic resilience in the north-eastern region.
