Japanese Investors Forge Unique Path with Traditional Elderly Haven in Kampong Speu

The allure of Cambodia’s real estate, agriculture, and craftsmanship opportunities has captured the attention of Japanese investors. These forward-thinking entrepreneurs have set their sights on crafting a haven of tranquility and cultural resonance – a traditional Japanese village tailored exclusively for the elderly.

Dr. Mong Reththy, the visionary General Director of Mong Reththy Group, shared this pioneering venture on 4 August 2023, in the Mong Reththy Sen Chey agro-tourism development area in Kampong Speu province.

“Drawing from three years of exploratory visits to the Mong Reththy Sen Chey agro-tourism development area, these Japanese investors have been meticulously orchestrating their unique proposition,” stated Dr. Mong.

As Dr. Mong Reththy revealed, the focal point of their investment lies in creating an authentic Japanese village, nestled at the base of the picturesque mountain. This village will feature not only quintessential Japanese architecture but also a serene water park and recreational facilities, designed to evoke the tranquility of a bygone era.

At its heart, this visionary construction is aimed at offering a retreat for Japan’s elderly population, who often find winters harsh and challenging. With meticulous attention to detail, the project plans encompass comprehensive elderly care services, encompassing health and nutrition support. This venture seeks to harmonize cultural heritage with modern comforts, providing a nurturing space for relaxation and holistic well-being.

In addition to the village’s serene setting, a 60-hectare expanse is earmarked for the establishment of a golf course, fostering both physical activity and leisure for the residents.

Further reinforcing the project’s dedication to holistic care, Japanese investors will undertake the transformation of the existing hospital within the Mong Reththy Sen Chey agro-tourism development area into a modern healthcare facility tailored to the guests’ needs.

Dr. Mong Reththy explained that the lodge in the Mong Reththy Sen Chey agro-tourism development area will also be set up as a temporary office before the implementation of the above project. This endeavor stands as a testament to Cambodia’s attractiveness as an investment destination and the innovative ideas that partnerships between nations can birth.
