Japan provides US$ 890K grant aid for three major development projects in Cambodia

The Japanese Government has agreed to provide a total of US$890,471 in grant aid to develop and enhance three infrastructure projects in Preah Vihear and Pailin provinces.

The agreement was made during the grant aid signing ceremony on 25 February, which was presided over H.E. Meikima Mashiro, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The first project is the construction of a reservoir for agricultural enhancement in Preah Vihear province. The project will cost US$85,019 and will be implemented by the Pride of Asia Preah Vihear Association Japan.

The second project is the integrated health and nutrition project or known as WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Undertaken in Preah Vihear, the project will cost US$452,427 and is being implemented by World Vision Japan.

Meanwhile, the third project is the construction of the Pailin Youth Reinforcement of Community Center. Implemented by Kokyo Naki Kodomotachi, the project will cost around US$353,025.

The Grant Assistance via the Japanese NGO Project has been implemented in Cambodia since 2002 to support the development and reconstruction of Cambodia at the grassroots level.
