Kampot and Kep to Attract More Development with Forthcoming Investment Guidebook

Kampot and Kep officials are composing an investment guidebook to attract more new development and manage existing projects more effectively, according to Kampot Governor Chev Tay.

HE Chev Tay said in a meeting with the Kampot-Kep Chamber of Commerce officials on 01 February that the guidebook is crucial for investors as it can provide essential information before they decide to invest.

“Currently, the relevant officials are studying and preparing the guidebook. When done, the book will hopefully help boost the investments in the province, especially the foreign direct investment,” said HE Chev Tay.

Kampot and Kep provinces are high potential provinces. For example, over 200 development projects and four major tourism development destinations have recently been included in the draft of the Kep Tourism Master Plan. (Read more)

Meanwhile, Kampot province has also welcomed many development projects such as the US$8 million tourism port in Teuk Chhou district, the artificial beach, the first-ever golf course Forest Harmony, and the Coastal Business Centre, among others.

Moreover, a local real estate expert also expects that Kompot and Kep will become high potential investment destinations, especially for resort development in 2021 or after the pandemic ends, as those provinces have been attracting increasing numbers of local visitors. (Read more)
