CAMKO INFRACORE Eyes Cambodia for Global Electric Car Assembly Plant

Korea’s CAMKO INFRACORE is contemplating a substantial investment in Cambodia, envisioning the establishment of an electric car assembly plant with a focus on global exports.

This ambitious plan was disclosed during a high-profile meeting held on 24 January 2024, between HE Sun Chanthol, First Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and HE Chung Sye-kyun, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.

CAMKO INFRACORE, already contributing to Cambodia’s automotive landscape through CAMKO MOTOR, a Korean entity engaged in the assembly of Hyundai cars and the production of car electrical wiring for international export, expressed a keen interest in expanding its footprint.

The meeting served as a platform to deliberate on past collaborations and investment initiatives, with a specific emphasis on encouraging increased participation from Korean companies in Cambodia’s burgeoning market.

Highlighting the potential for synergy between the two nations, HE Deputy Prime Minister urged HE Chung Sye-kyun to facilitate and explore opportunities for further showcasing Cambodia’s investment potential to Korean investors. This collaborative effort aims to foster an environment conducive to expanded investment activities, further solidifying the economic ties between the two nations.
