Manufacturing Surge: Takeo Province Secures $148 Million in Diverse New Investments

TAKEO, Cambodia – Investment activity in Takeo Province saw strong growth in the first ten months of 2025, with the provincial investment sub-committee approving 45 new projects totaling nearly $150 million in capital, according to Fresh news.

H.E. Ouch Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province, disclosed these figures to reporters recently during the 2025 registration campaign for informal economy workers. He specified that the 45 companies, representing an investment of $148 million, encompass a diverse range of manufacturing sectors. These include the production of furniture, kitchenware, packaging materials for clothing, fitness equipment, plastics, and components such as brake cables and gears for motorcycles and automobiles.

The Governor also highlighted factory development, noting that 149 new factory buildings were completed and prepared for operation during the period from January to October. These new enterprises span agriculture, agro-industry, and the garment and footwear sectors.

Currently, Takeo Province boasts a total of 819 operating factories, employing over 120,000 workers, with more than 80,000 of them being women. Textile, garment, and footwear factories account for 135 of these establishments, employing over 100,000 people, while the remaining 684 enterprises employ over 25,000 workers in various other sectors.
