Sihanoukville Investment Promotion Working Group reviews proposals for industrial parks, manufacturing, and tourism facilities to drive provincial economic growth

The Royal Government of Cambodia is moving to further stimulate economic activity in Sihanoukville by reviewing a diverse portfolio of 35 investment and business projects. These initiatives, representing a collective investment of more than $156 million, were the focus of the 23rd meeting of the Sihanoukville Investment Promotion Working Group on February 19, 2026. Chaired by His Excellency Hean Sahip, Advisor to the Prime Minister and head of the working group, the session aimed to evaluate requests for fiscal incentives, tax exemptions, and streamlined administrative procedures.

The scope of the proposed investments is broad, covering both manufacturing and service sectors. Key projects include the establishment of an industrial park specifically for pet-related manufacturing, as well as factories for furniture processing, waste management, and the production of water pipes and carton boxes. The energy sector is represented by new electric vehicle charging stations, while the food industry includes artisanal edible oil production. Additionally, the list features significant urban developments such as multi-purpose buildings, hotels, and shopping malls. Collectively, these ventures are expected to generate thousands of new employment opportunities for the local population.

During the discussions, officials explored various policy adjustments and principles designed to attract high-quality investments that offer significant added value to the economy. The committee considered projects located both within and outside of Special Economic Zones, ensuring a comprehensive approach to regional development.
