Japanese Manufacturing Giant MinebeaMitsumi Eyes $700 Million Expansion in Pursat Province

Japanese industrial leader MinebeaMitsumi Inc. is set to significantly expand its manufacturing footprint in Cambodia with a planned additional investment of up to $700 million targeted for Pursat province. The major economic commitment was detailed on July 28, 2026, during a high-level meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Yoshihisa Kainuma, Chief Executive Officer of MinebeaMitsumi Inc. During the discussions, Kainuma highlighted upcoming plans to officially inaugurate a new factory facility in the Kingdom alongside a broader strategy for long-term corporate growth. He emphasized that the company’s sustained commercial success serves as a positive catalyst to attract other Japanese investors, adding that MinebeaMitsumi maintains complete confidence in Cambodia’s investment climate and stability.

In response, Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged the Japanese conglomerate to explore further opportunities to deepen local supply chain integration and collaborate with domestic enterprises. The Prime Minister urged the corporate leadership to maintain close engagement with relevant Cambodian ministries and public institutions to optimize investment efficiency and capture emerging industrial growth opportunities alongside the nation’s economic development.

Elaborating on the investment trajectory, Minister of Mines and Energy Keo Rattanak confirmed on July 29, 2026, that MinebeaMitsumi has invested a total of $1.9 billion over 15 years in Cambodia. Initiated under former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and nurtured under Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the company’s Phase 2 project in Pursat province will inject an additional $600 million to $700 million over the next 10 years.
