MOISTI signs contract to build a large water treatment plant in Kampong Cham

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOISTI) has contracted with Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd (BUCG) to build a raw water pumping station, water treatment plant and water supply network in Kampong Cham province. This is according to the signing ceremony on August 29, 2022.

When this project is completed, the new water treatment plant will have a production capacity of 11,600 cubic meters per day and a water distribution network of 80km.

This project is part of the Provincial Water and Sanitation Project (PWSSP), a concessional financing project managed by the Asian Development Bank with a total value of 119.17 million US dollars and started to be implemented on January 9, 2018. And must be completed by June 30, 2023.

The project is under the PWSSP project with a total value of US$ 119.17 million, including a contribution from the ADB loan of about US $ 50 million, a loan from the French Development Agency (AFD) of US$43.54 million and a grant. Of the European Union, about $ 5.09 million.

It should be noted that under the PWSSP project in July, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation also signed a contract to build a raw water pumping station, water treatment plant and water network in Battambang province with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
