MPWT Begins Developing New Road Construction Quality Monitoring App

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has begun preparation work to develop a new application and inclusive system to monitor and control the quality of road construction nationwide.

The plan to establish this new system came after Minister HE Sun Chanthol in July gave an order to relevant officials to strengthen the quality of all roads construction by using the support of IoT.

The meeting discussing this matter was held on Thursday 16 September and chaired by HE Heang Vutha, Director-General of the MPWT’s General Technical Department.

HE Heang Vutha said that the scope of work is only just to create an application, but also to create a fully functional system known as the Road Care Supervision System.

“Currently, the relevant working groups are exchanging ideas, collecting inputs, and filling in the gaps before starting the development process,” he said.

“This system will make it easier for the Ministry’s management level to monitor the quality of roads construction through online construction reports, quality control reports and construction evaluation reports,” he added.
