NR33 (Kampot-Chrak Lok) Rehabilitation Reaches 90.84% Completion

The rehabilitation and quality improvement of NR No. 33, connecting Kampot to Chrak Lok, has reached 90.84% completion as of the end of July 2024. This crucial infrastructure project, which spans approximately 52.57 km and passes through Kampot province, Kep city, and Damnak Chang Eur district, was inspected by HE Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, alongside technical teams from China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) and Guangzhou Technical Advisor Wang An on 7 August 2024.

During the inspection, the teams reviewed critical areas, including the Kbal Romeas Bridge construction site, canal locations, the White Horse roundabout sidewalk in Kep province, and road markings to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Secretary of State Pal Chandara emphasised the importance of adhering to technical specifications to ensure smooth and safe travel for the public.

Funded through a concessional loan from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the project also benefits from additional budget allocations by the Cambodian government to address various impacts and taxes. The NR No. 33 project is expected to significantly enhance transportation links, facilitating better connectivity between Cambodia and Vietnam through the Teuk Chhou and Kampong Trach districts of Kampot province. (Read more)
