A towering 45-meter-high Buddha statue is poised to adorn the picturesque landscape of Kep province, marking a sacred site for Buddhists and an enchanting tourist attraction. The impressive statue will find its home atop the Thurak Meditation Center’s mountainous terrain, nestled in the heart of Kep Village, Kep Commune, Kep province. This monumental endeavor goes beyond the Buddha statue; it encompasses the construction of an entire meditation center, 60 monastic residences, road infrastructure, and ample parking facilities.

H.E. Som Piseth emphasized that this remarkable addition aims to serve both the Buddhist community and religious tourism. It will provide a space for Buddhists to deepen their spiritual knowledge and offer tourists a captivating cultural experience. The revenue generated from this endeavor will also be reinvested in enhancing the well-being of Kep province’s residents.
