Kampong Speu province is set to bolster its industrial landscape with the recent inauguration of a large-scale cement factory, officially opened on 20 May 2025, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet. The factory, located in Oral district, represents a significant investment of over USD 250 million by Conch KT Cement, marking it as one of the largest cement manufacturing projects in the region.

During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Manet praised the establishment of the Conch KT Cement factory, noting that it is equipped to produce more than 2 million tons of cement annually. He highlighted the factory’s potential to meet the growing domestic demand for cement, thereby enhancing the country’s infrastructure development.

HE Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, added that the investment reflects the confidence foreign investors have in Cambodia’s economic prospects. The Chinese-owned Conch KT Cement company is already operational in Battambang province, further underscoring its commitment to contributing to Cambodia’s construction sector. (Read more and more)

The establishment of such facilities aligns with the government’s vision for industrial growth and self-sufficiency in construction materials. As Cambodia continues to develop, the role of domestic cement production becomes increasingly vital to sustaining economic momentum.

Overall, this new cement factory is not just a testament to foreign investment but also a reaffirmation of Cambodia’s ambitious development trajectory.
