New beach development in Kep set to be ready in April

The project to transform a 2.7-kilometer-long muddy beach in Phum Thmey village of Kep city into a public beach resort is now 90% completed and set to be ready for the public by April this year.

According to the Kep Governor HE Som Piseth on Tuesday 19 January, the sand filling work is almost completed while the next task is the decoration and gardening.

“As scheduled, the project will take 6 months to be completed. However, given the current progress, we might be able to finish early by April, in time for Khmer New Year,” said HE Piseth.

With ground broken in November last year, the project will transform a 2.7km long muddy beach from the Crab Market to a mangrove forest zone in Phum Thmey village into a standardized natural beach with plenty of activities. (Read more)
