Work Begins on New Public Beach Resort Development in Kep

The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development (NCCMD) has begun work on a project to transform a 2.7-kilometre-long in Phum Thmey village of Kep province into a public beach resort.

According to the Kep Provincial Administration announcement, the team will start filling the land and doing the reclamation work, with 200 trucks to be used to transport all kinds of construction materials to the site.

Thus, the Kep Provincial Administration has also closed the traffic on section o NR33A from the White Horse roundabout to the Preah Vishnukar roundabout to avoid accidents and congestion.

Under this new public beach development project, a 2.7km long muddy beach from the Crab Market to a mangrove forest zone in Phum Thmey village will be transformed into a standardised natural beach with plenty of activities.

According to the plan, the tasks include recreating a 30-metre-wide and 2700-metre-long beach as well as a 50-metre-wide and 2700-metre-long public park. (Read more)
