Minister Hout Hak and KOCHAM President Kim Nyoun Ho agree to strengthen business-to-business ties, promote destination potential, and organize upcoming trade missions

The Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam has expressed strong interest in deepening investment cooperation within Cambodia’s tourism sector, following high-level bilateral discussions with Cambodian government officials. Tourism Minister Hout Hak met with KOCHAM President Kim Nyoun Ho on August 25, 2026, to explore mutual trade opportunities, promote national tourism potential, and bolster regional public-private partnerships.

During the working session, KOCHAM representatives outlined business expansion plans for their member companies in Cambodia, citing strong confidence in the Kingdom’s peaceful environment and growing travel industry. The chamber confirmed that it is currently preparing an upcoming delegation visit to conduct on-the-ground feasibility studies and explore specific tourism investment projects.

In response, Minister Hout Hak welcomed KOCHAM’s initiative, thanking the chamber for recognizing Cambodia as a safe, attractive destination for foreign capital. He emphasized that the Royal Government considers tourism a vital pillar of national economic growth and remains committed to supporting incoming international investors.

Both parties agreed to establish a structured cooperation framework linking KOCHAM Vietnam with the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism and the local private sector. This agreement will focus on promoting Cambodian investment opportunities directly to KOCHAM’s corporate members, facilitating business-to-business networking events between Korean and Cambodian enterprises, and organizing destination familiarization tours in the near future.
