PM Hun Sen to Begin Chairing National events Marking Cambodia’s Resilience to COVID-19

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen has announced that he will start to preside over inauguration or groundbreaking ceremonies of infrastructure projects from now on after the number of COVID-19 cases have dropped significantly in the past months.

This also marks the new normal of Cambodia being resilient to the COVID-19 pandemic, said PM Hun Sen by stating that the first event will be the inauguration of the new Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.

This announcement was made by PM Hun Sen while chairing the plenary session of the Council of Ministers on 22 October.

“As a result of our preparation to learn to live with COVID-19, my first job is to inaugurate the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction on 8 November 2021,” said PM Hun Sen.

“Next, we need to look into other missing or rescheduled events, such as the inauguration of the Stung Trang-Kroch Chhmar China Friendship Bridge and the achievements of Sihanoukville, among others,” he added.

The Prime Minister also confirmed that from now on, there will be no closures of schools, markets, factories and other places, even though COVID-19 cases were found there.
