Progress on the Kampong Kor Water Interceptor Project

 

The Kampong Kor Water Interceptor Development Project is making significant strides, with construction now 75% completed. This development was highlighted during a field inspection led by His Excellency Tho Jetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology.

Located in Kampong Kor Leu Village within the Kampong Kor Commune of Kampong Svay District, this ambitious project has been under construction since May 2024. Once fully operational, the Kampong Kor Water Interceptor will boast a water storage capacity of approximately 300 million cubic meters. It is designed to serve not only Stung Sen City but also Kampong Svay District, Santuk District, Prasat Ballang District, and Sandan District.

The project is set to have a transformative impact on agriculture, with the ability to irrigate around 300,000 hectares of arable land, ensuring a reliable water supply for local farmers and enhancing food security in the region. (Read more)
