S. Korea and Cambodia Forge Stronger Partnerships in Logistics Development

South Korea is set to bolster its collaboration with Cambodia in advancing the development of the logistics sector, with a focus on attracting Korean investors to the Kingdom. This vision was discussed during a meeting between HE Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, and HE Park Jung-Wook, the newly appointed Korean Ambassador to Cambodia, on 31st May 2023.

HE Park Jung-Wook admired Cambodia’s remarkable progress and development across various sectors, particularly highlighting the significant advancements in transport infrastructure. He emphasized his strong commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and facilitating increased involvement of Korean private investors in Cambodia, specifically in the logistics industry.

During the meeting, HE Sun Chanthol emphasized the completion of the master plan for Cambodia’s multimodal transport and logistics system, which is poised to enhance the competitiveness of logistics and transportation costs within the country. This comprehensive plan will contribute to making Cambodia an attractive destination for regional trade and investment.

The collaboration between South Korea and Cambodia in logistics development holds immense potential for driving economic growth, attracting foreign investments, and improving trade connectivity. By leveraging Korea’s expertise and resources in the logistics sector, Cambodia stands to benefit from advanced logistics systems, improved efficiency, and enhanced competitiveness on the global stage.
