US$18m Siem Reap Zoo Opening in October

The US$18 million Siem Reap Zoo is set to open in October 2022 officially. This is according to the inspection of the progress of the zoo by HE Veng Sakhon on 16 June.

The company’s CEO, Roger Reynolds, said that the zoo was established to display the aquatic and wildlife species in the Kingdom of Cambodia, especially endangered and rare species that can request imports if necessary to attract national and international tourists.

HE Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, praised and considered that this is the first project in Siem Reap that will help promote tourism. The minister also urged the team to complete the construction work as soon as possible so that the inauguration project can run successfully.

This zoo covers an area of ​​22 hectares in Kbon village, Khchas commune, Sot Nikum district, Siem Reap province. The zoo is a US$18 million investment by Angkor White Life and Equator Co., Ltd. Currently, the construction is about 70% complete while the construction process is actively underway.

The zoo has a good infrastructure, and many species of large wildlife such as tigers, elephants, bears, small fish, freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and fish from the Amazon. The zoo has a laboratory building and wildlife treatment.

The zoo has been announced in 2019 as Angkor Aquarium & Animal Kingdom, with plans to build on 100 hectares under an investment of $ 70 million. Stage. (Read more)
