Sihanoukville to Welcome Its First Shopping Mall

Sihanoukville is to soon welcome its first shopping mall. On 21 August 2018, Ms Lim Sokha Davin, sales manager for Furi Real Estate told Construction &Property Magazine that the construction of Furi Times Square located near the Independence Monument Park in Sangkat Mitapheap, Sihanouvkille is scheduled to open in June 2019.

According to Ms Lim Sokha Davin, Furi Times Square is the result of nearly US$10 million investment by the company and investors from Macau and Hong Kong. The mall will cover a total land area of about 6,000 square metres of which 40% will be public space.

In addition, this four-storey mall will have leasing space of up to 12,000 square metres comprising of popular international brands such as Levis, Samsonite as well as a Legend Cinema, according to Ms Lim Sokha Davin.

The establishment of the mall is in line with the rapidly increasing development in Sihanoukville while the growth of international tourists, especially Chinese tourists continues to rise. In fact, according to the forecast by the Ministry of Tourism, Sihanoukville will receive about 2 million international tourists and about 3 million national tourists by 2030.

According to the company, 50% of the leasing area has already been occupied.
