Two Major Roads in Pursat City Set to Begin Construction in November

Construction of two major provincial roads in Pursat city will officially begin next week on Wednesday 10 November, according to a follow-up meeting Pursat Provincial Administration on Monday 2 November.

Pursat Governor HE Chiao Tay said that the two roads include Road 209 + 109 and Pursat Central Market Road 205 + 206 + 103. Both roads will be paved with DBST and concrete, respectively.

HE Chiao Tay added these two projects are part of the ADB’s environmental management project around the Tonle Sap Lake with a total loan amount of US$9.93 million.

Implemented by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the whole scheme includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, drainage system, flood protection network, landfill, and two aforementioned road projects.

To date, the landfill construction is over 85% complete, which is scheduled to be put into use by the end of February 2022.

Meanwhile, the wastewater treatment plant, drainage system, and roads renovation projects are scheduled for completion by March 2022.
