First Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh reached 90%

The construction of the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh is about 90% complete, according to HE Nuon Pharath, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh on March 29, 2023.

The first phase of the Faecal Sludge treatment plant will be completed by the end of April and is scheduled to officially inaugurate in mid-May.

This project started construction in May 2022 on an area of 3 hectares in Phleung Cheh Roteh Lech village, Sangkat Phleung Cheh Roteh, Khan Kampoul, Phnom Penh. (Read more)

According to the Deputy Governor, this achievement is joint financing between the Phnom Penh Capital Administration and the International Association of French Mayors (AIMF), which has been cooperating on this work since 2018 and hopes to raise additional funding. To build the next treatment station according to the plan to participate in improving the well-being of the people in Phnom Penh.
