Cambodia Set to Welcome Five New Factories Worth US$31 Million in Five Provinces

In a boost to Cambodia’s industrial landscape, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has granted investment project registration certificates to five companies, signaling the establishment of state-of-the-art factories across the nation.

These groundbreaking ventures, with a cumulative investment of US$31 million, are poised to invigorate economic growth and create numerous employment opportunities for Cambodians. The CDC’s announcement on June 15, 2023, heralded a new era of industrial development in the country.

Among the noteworthy companies embarking on these transformative projects, “ZHAO CHUNXIANG PROCESSING FACTORY CO., LTD” will invest US$8.5 million in a wood processing plant, specializing in acacia and wind oil. Situated in the picturesque Ta Nei village, Ta Nei commune, Prey Nup district, Sihanoukville province, this facility promises to contribute to Cambodia’s thriving wood industry.

Meanwhile, “GREAT ZHENXIN GARMENT CO., LTD” will invest US$6.5 million to establish a state-of-the-art garment factory on Concrete Road, Prek Samrong 3 Village, Sangkat Takhmao, Takhmao City, Kandal Province. This cutting-edge facility is poised to bolster Cambodia’s position as a premier destination for garment manufacturing, while creating numerous employment opportunities for local communities.

Additionally, “NIUENT (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD” is investing US$5.7 million to establish a bag and suitcase factory in Keo Udom village, Trapeang Kong commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province. This venture will contribute to the country’s growing manufacturing sector, further solidifying Cambodia’s status as a hub for high-quality bag and suitcase production.

“LONG MARCH GARMENT CO., LTD” will channel an investment of US$5.2 million into a garment factory situated on National Road 2, Poun Phnom Village, Trapeang Sap Commune, Bati District, Takeo Province. The establishment of this modern facility underscores Cambodia’s commitment to fostering a robust textile and garment industry, stimulating employment and economic progress.

Lastly, “TEAM INDUSTRIAL COMPANY LIMITED” is poised to invest US$5.1 million in a factory dedicated to the production of packaging materials and suitcases. Strategically located at Building A, Concrete Road, Trapeang Chhouk Village, Sangkat Kantouk, Khan Kampoul, Phnom Penh, this venture will meet the burgeoning demand for high-quality packaging materials in Cambodia and beyond.

Collectively, these five ambitious projects are expected to generate a staggering 6,949 employment opportunities for Cambodian citizens. With job creation and economic growth at the forefront, Cambodia is poised to harness the potential of its burgeoning industrial sector, solidifying its position as a prime investment destination in the region.
