Gov’t Greenlights 7 New Factories Worth US$40.8 Million in Kandal, Kampong Speu & Phnom Penh

In a resounding endorsement of Cambodia’s economic prospects, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), has recently given its approval to seven companies to establish cutting-edge factories with an impressive combined investment of US$40.8 million. These strategic endeavors are set to create over 11,000 job opportunities for residents in Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Phnom Penh.

The official CDC announcement on 11 October 2023, revealed these forward-looking companies:

  1. DISHANG RUIHUASHENG (CAMBODIA) GARMENTS CO., LTD. will allocate US$7.5 million for the creation of a garment factory in Ta Lek village, Trapeang Veng commune, Kandal Steung district, Kandal province. This endeavor promises to generate 1,358 jobs.
  2. EVERGREEN SPORTING GOODS (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD. is set to invest US$7 million in establishing a versatile bag factory, strategically located on National Road 4, Pong Teuk village, Damnak Ampil commune, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province. This initiative is anticipated to provide 2,160 job opportunities.
  3. KJ APPAREL (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD. will channel US$5.6 million into the establishment of a garment factory. Positioned on National Road 4, Block C, Trapeang Krasaing village, Bek Chan commune, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province, this venture is expected to offer 1,208 job opportunities.
  4. ASTI KNITWEAR CO., LTD. will invest US$5.2 million in a factory specializing in knitwear. Located at Building K9, National Road 4, Sangkum Cheat village, Trapeang Kong commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, this project aspires to generate 1,770 jobs.
  5. IMAGE GARMENTS (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD. has earmarked US$5.2 million for the establishment of a garment factory. Situated in Cana City Industrial Park, Building 35 and D37, Veng Sreng Road, Trapeang Thleung village, Sangkat Choam Chao I, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, this project foresees the creation of 645 employment positions.
  6. STANDFORD TEXTILE INDUSTRIES CO., LTD. is set to invest US$5.2 million in a factory producing bags, ribbons, ropes, safety belts, and pet safety belts. Located at 27km, National Road 3, Kraing Trea village, Preah Nipvan commune, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province, this project will result in 758 job opportunities.
  7. SIRIUS GEAR OUTDOOR PRODUCTS (CAMBODIA) COMPANY LIMITED is embarking on a project to establish a factory producing bags, travel equipment, chairs (metal-fabric), tents, car accessories, and pet supplies. Positioned in Prey Chamkar village, Lumhach commune, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province, this venture is projected to create 2,208 jobs.
