Gov’t Mulls Constructing Large-Scale Nursery Research Centre in Kampong Chhnang

The Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries is planning to transform the Hun Sen Meanok plant station in Kampong Chhnang province into a large-scale research and nursery centre, aiming to produce 10 million seedlings per year.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries HE Veng Sakhon, the Hun Sen Meanok plant station has a total area of 28,960 hectares, which is currently cultivating over 10,000 Acacia hybrids, and many other seedlings.

He added that the ministry plans to transport this location into a tree research centre, which will include the construction of a laboratory, the development of surrounding infrastructure, as well as establishing a high standard nursery.
