Gov’t Urges Private Firm to Expand & Modernise Water Supply Network in SHV

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) has requested Anco Co., Ltd. to expand and modernise the clean water supply network in Sihanoukville, especially in developing districts, as the company is currently operating clean water treatment plants with a capacity of 160,000 m3 / day.

MISTI Minister HE Cham Prasidh made the request during the water treatment plant inspection in the Kbal Chhay area, Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville on 27 February.

The plan to expand the water supply network is to meet the needs of people as well as to promote the development and investment in Sihanoukville.

Anco currently has three water treatment plants that can produce 40,000m3, 60,000m6, and 60,000m3 of clean water per day respectively.

Currently, the company has connected networks to people and factories in downtown Sihanoukville, Prey Nob and Stueng Hav districts.
Besides a clean water system, Sihanoukville also has two wastewater treatment plants that can treat more than 12,000m3 / day, while a third plant with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day is under construction. (Read more)
