India Builds Mega Luxury Resort Faster with Digital Engineering

AVS ENGINEERS and ISID STRUCTURES have completed the structural design of the Fairmont Palace Udaipur luxury resort in Rajasthan, India, four months ahead of schedule using Bentley’s STAAD.Pro, RAM Structural System, and RAM Elements.

Completed in July 2025, the 500,000-square-foot resort combines modern luxury with traditional Rajasthani architecture. Its steep hillside location and complex features, including swimming pools positioned above event spaces, presented significant structural challenges.

The engineering team used Bentley’s digital tools to model terrain conditions, seismic and wind loads, soil-structure interaction, and complex structural components. The integrated workflow helped improve coordination, reduce design errors, and optimize the use of concrete and steel.

The project was delivered 35% faster, saving more than 800 resource hours. Material optimization reduced steel consumption by approximately 420 metric tons and concrete by 2,400 cubic meters, generating around INR 2.8 crore (USD 335,000) in material savings and more than INR 3.8 crore in overall savings.

The project also improved structural resilience by approximately 20% and helped prevent more than 1,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.

Recognized as a Bentley Year in Infrastructure (YII) Winner, the Fairmont Palace Udaipur project demonstrates how digital engineering can accelerate construction while reducing costs, material use, and environmental impact.
