Interior Ministry to Build New US$20 million Administration Building

The Ministry of Interior will build a new administration building worth approximately US$20 million inside the current ministry complex as it has already received approval from the government.

In a letter from the Office of Council of the Ministers dated 29 June, the government agreed in principle to allow the Ministry of Interior to build a new building inside the old complex, located in Bassac commune, Chamkar Mon district with the budget of US$20 million ministry’s budget.

Meanwhile, the ministry can request more budget from the government in case there are shortages, but it must be done through the formal and step-by-step procedure.

The government also asked the ministry to reduce the cost to as much as possible, as the government is currently spending significant budget fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.
