Japan provides US$23 million for the expansion of the water supply system in Cambodia

The Japanese government has decided to provide more than US$23 million in grant aid for a project expansion of the Phum Prek Water Supply System in Cambodia.

The signing ceremony of the grant was held on November 12 under the presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and visiting Japanese Prime Minister HE Kishida Fumio.

The project to expand Phum Prek Water Supply System is worth US$23.3 million.

Besides, the Japanese government also gave the Cambodian government a total of US$28 million to implement three other projects in Cambodia.

The above grant aid extended by the Government of Japan will significantly contribute to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts to stimulate the economic and social development of the Kingdom, and further, enhance the existing good cooperation and bonds of traditional friendship between the two countries.
