Kampong Speu footbridge officially opens

A footbridge crossing National Road 4 located in Chbar Mon town, Kampong Speu province has been officially put into operation to contribute to promoting the city’s beauty and facilitating ease for pedestrian commuters.

The opening ceremony was held on 29 December in the presence of H.E Vei Samnang, Provincial Governor of Kampong Speu.

According to Kampong Speu Municipality the new footbridge is named “Techo Santhipheap Kampong Speu” and was constructed using a budget of US$340,000 from a private company Heng Development Company.

The footbridge is 5.7 metres high, 39 metres long and 3.8 metres wide and took six months to build and will contribute to easing traffic congestion in town.

After this first footbridge has been put into use, Kampong Speu Municipality also has plans to build two more footbridges in Chba Mon town to facilitate pedestrians crossing the busy road.
