Koh Norea-Koh Pich Ferry Opens to Ease Traffic Congestion on Monivong Bridge

The Phnom Penh Municipality has launched two large ferry services for vehicles and passengers transiting between Koh Norea and Koh Pich to ease congestion on the Monivong Bridge.

According to an announcement by the Department of Public Works and Transport on the morning of 09 April, the launch of the ferry is to help relieve traffic congestion, since one of the Monivong bridges has been closed for repairs. (Read more)

The two ferries will run from 5:30am to 8:00pm. The service is expected to continue until construction of the new bridge connecting Koh Pich to Koh Norea is complete.

Besides the ferry, the Phnom Penh Municipality and OCIC are also considering building another new concrete bridge in the Prek Pra area to relieve traffic on NR1 and NR2. (Read more)
