Korea’s Expertise Fuels Cambodia’s Ambitions: Development of Maritime Aid Master Plan in Full Swing

A distinguished team of experts from the Korea Maritime Aid Institute is lending their support to Cambodia in crafting a comprehensive master plan for Maritime Aid within the Kingdom of Cambodia. This milestone endeavor took center stage during a strategic meeting on 28 August 2023.

The meeting served as a pivotal platform to meticulously scrutinize past undertakings, and their outcomes, and chart the course for future challenges.

In the wake of this productive meeting, Korea has committed to spearheading the second phase of this transformative project, slated to start in early 2025, mirroring a steadfast commitment to Cambodia’s maritime aspirations.

The collaboration is set to encompass the formulation of an intricate master plan for navigation aid signals, coupled with the supply of essential additional resources from the Korean side. Technical equipment essential for the installation of navigation aid signals will also be provided.

Moreover, knowledge transfer will be a cornerstone of this collaboration, with Korean experts conducting skills training for Cambodian technical officers. The invaluable insights garnered from Korea’s maritime prowess will further empower Cambodia’s maritime sector.

This partnership heralds a new era in Cambodia’s maritime landscape, one characterized by modernization, safety, and an ever-strengthening alliance with Korea as a global maritime leader.
