Major Companies Commit to Local Agricultural Products for Animal Feed Production

In a significant boost for Cambodia’s agricultural sector, three leading animal feed manufacturers have announced a commitment to purchase local agricultural products, totaling over 100,000 tons annually, to enhance their production chains in the country.

The announcement was made during a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony held on August 11, 2025, attended by HE Cham Nimal, the Minister of Commerce. The participating companies—Khmer Fresh Milk, GREENFEED Cambodia, and Dangkhaopang Animal Feed Enterprise—are set to source a range of local raw materials, including red corn, cassava, and rice husks.

As part of this initiative, the manufacturers will procure:

– 54,000 tons per year of red corn

– 13,000 tons per year of cassava

– 12,800 tons per year of rice husks

– 30,000 tons per year of bran

Minister Cham Nimal highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating that the active participation of animal feed manufacturers in utilizing local products will not only boost productivity but also enhance the supply of agricultural products. She emphasized that this initiative presents new business opportunities and will ultimately improve the livelihoods of Cambodian farmers.

This strategic move is poised to strengthen the local agricultural industry while fostering a more sustainable and self-sufficient economic ecosystem in Cambodia.
