Major Construction Projects Inaugurated in 2020

NR58 connecting Banteay Meanchey to Oddar Meanchey

National Road No. 58 is 174km long connecting Samrong city of Oddar Meanchey to the National Road 5 in Poipet city of Banteay Meanchey province. The construction of this road cost US$122.98 million, which was jointly financed by the Chinese government and the Cambodian government budget.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen and the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian on 26 February.
The project includes 165km of main road and 8km of sub-roads, running through Banteay Meanchey province for 92km, and Oddar Meanchey for 73.18km. The route is cut by four roads accessing the Cambodian-Thai border, including Ou Beichaon, Jobkorki, and Thma Duan. (Read more)

NR55 connecting Pursat to Thai border

The construction of NR55 was financed by the government of the People’s Republic of China, along with a Cambodian government budget contribution, totalling approximately US$132.8 million.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen and the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian on 9 March 2020.

Constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the road has a total length of 180 kilometres and a width of 9 meters, linking National Road 5 (from section 191+150) to the Thai-Cambodian border at Trat province. (Read more)

New Flyover at Kbal Thnal area

The construction of the new section of the Kbal Thnal Flyover next to the Kbal Thnal Flyover, linking Monivong Boulevard to Norodom Boulevard has been completed and opened for public use since 01 May 2020.

The 77-metre long flyover links Preah Monivong Boulevard to Monivong Boulevard and from the base of the flyover to the old Kbal Thnal flyover is 123 metres long and 7.5 metres wide and was built by the OCIC Company. (Read more)

US$55-million Garden City Water Park

The US$55-million Garden City Water Park located nearby the Win-Win Monument in Chroy Chongva district was officially opened on 17 August, becoming the largest international standard water park in Cambodia.

The project is an investment by LYP Group and built by British firm White Water Group on 6 hectares of land in the new satellite city, where the LYP group has been operating the well-known Phnom Penh Safari Zoo since 2018.

This water park features various sections including a man-made lagoon with a 3m high wave machine, beautiful man-made waterfalls, water slides, children’s playgrounds, and steam and sauna facilities, among others. (Read more)

US$3-million Olympic Stadium Swimming Pool

The new US$3million international-standard swimming pool at the National Olympic Stadium is a renovation project, which took 18 months to complete and cost approximately US$3 million, funded by the Shanghai Construction Company.
The opening ceremony on 28 September was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister Samdech Tea Banh and joined by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
The swimming pool renovation project includes the repair and expansion of the swimming and diving pools; the installation of new pumps, water filters, and over 1,600 seats; and the construction of an equipment room and training room. (Read more)

US$85 million Entertainment Centre Prince Manor

Located along NR1 in Kien Svay District, about 20km from Phnom Penh city centre, Prince Manor spreads over 13 hectares of land and was developed by Chinese firm Prince Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd. with an investment of US$85 million.
Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen presided over the grand opening ceremony of this entertainment complex on 07 October. (Read more)
