Malaysia Eyes More Investment in Real Estate, Energy & Other Prioritised Sectors in Cambodia

As of February 2022, 162 Malaysian investment projects worth US$3.2 billion have been registered by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), as more Malaysian investors are seeking investment opportunities in the real estate, mining, and energy sectors in Cambodia.

The data was unveiled during a meeting between Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Committee of CDC HE Nut Un Voanra, Governor of Malacca HE Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, and Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia HE Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim on 24 March.

Both Malaysian delegates expressed interest in investing more in the education and vocational training, real estate, mining and energy sectors.

In response, HE Nut Un Voanra stated that Cambodia is ready to cooperate with the ambassador and officials from Malaysia on providing information on investment and facilitating the visits of other Malaysian investment delegations in near future.

Malaysia is among the main foreign investors in Cambodia in the sectors of real estate, garment factories and processing plants.
