MoE Requests Australia to Establish Hydrogen Power Information Centre in Cambodia

The Cambodian government has requested Australia to help set up a hydrogen power generation knowledge sharing centre in Cambodia to boost clean energy production to address climate change.

The plan was discussed in an online meeting on Monday 30 August between the Environment Minister HE Say Sam Al, and the Australian Ambassador to Cambodia HE Pablo Kang.

During the meeting, the Australian side has urged Cambodia to consider using hydrogen power generation as one of the viable options in the kingdom’s energy mix policy.

HE Say Sam Al in response has embraced the proposal. However, he also requested that as Cambodia is still new to hydrogen power, Australia may consider helping establish an information or research centre in cooperation with the Cambodian side.

HE Say Sam Al also requested Australia to help establish a roadmap on strengthening cooperation on Cambodia-Australia economic development.
