MPWT Completes Trapeang Sre Border Gate Project, Paving Way for Next-Phase Development

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has officially announced the successful completion of the Trapeang Sre International Border Gate Improvement Project, a critical undertaking implemented under the Official Development Assistance Framework of the Republic of Korea. This milestone is expected to enhance cross-border trade and logistics operations in the region, positioning Cambodia for more robust economic connectivity. The announcement was made during a workshop held on 30 September 2024 in collaboration with stakeholders and key partners from Korea and Cambodia.

The workshop, led by MPWT, with the participation of the International Association of Technical Consultants of Korea (ICAK) led by Mr. YOO Hanjun, along with representatives from Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise and other provincial administrative bodies, marked a significant step forward.

It focused on four pivotal points: (1). disseminating the final study report on the border gate’s improvements, (2). sharing innovations in project implementation, (3). discussing next steps for post-completion activities, and (4). officially announcing the project’s conclusion.

The Trapeang Sre project, a collaborative effort between MPWT, ICAK, and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT), aimed to develop a strategic plan to improve the logistics structure and operations at the border gate.   (Read more)
