NR No. 48 Upgrade Surpasses 45%, Targeting 60% Milestone by May

Efforts to enhance the quality of Cambodia’s crucial transportation artery, NR No. 48 (Sre Ambel-Koh Kong), have reached a commendable milestone, with completion currently standing at 45.17% as of 11 March 2024. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), led by HE So Vector, Secretary of State and Director of the Quality Improvement Project on NR No. 48, is resolutely committed to achieving the 60% benchmark by May 2024.

Under the vigilant oversight of HE Peng Po, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, HE So Vector outlined the significant progress of the project. Stretching 148km from the intersection of NR No. 4 to Khemarak Phoumin City in Koh Kong province, the construction site is bustling with continuous asphalt concrete (AC) work. The plan for the upcoming rainy season of 2024 includes maximising base course work, with structure work set to continue until the dry season of 2025 when AC completion is anticipated.

The construction initiative, launched on 3 January 2017, with a budget of approximately US$78 million, is a vital component of Cambodia’s infrastructure development strategy. The commitment to achieving the 60% milestone by May 2024 reflects the government’s dedication to fostering efficient transportation networks for the nation’s progress. (Read more)
