Myanmar-owned Hotel and Casino Opens in Sihanoukville

Another casino has risen in Sihanoukville, but in this instance thanks to investment from Myanmar not China through Gobo East Entertainment Hotel & Casino.

The USD13 million hotel was officially opened on 10 April by Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection H.E. Men Sam An together with the hotel management team.

Located along the beach, Gobo East Entertainment Hotel & Casino is a 5-storey building with a total of 123 rooms which will serve as both a hotel and casino.

“This investment is evidence showing that Cambodia has been attracting a lot of foreigner investors from different nationalities across the world and also showing that we are open to everyone. When there is more foreign investment, the local economy will also grow and there will especially be more jobs available for the locals,” said H.E. Men Sam An.

“Sihanoukville currently has a very high potential as a development city, and we are doing our best to make sure the development is sustainable and long-term,” she added.
