National Road 48 Upgrade Hits Milestone with 38.26% Completion

The ongoing National Road No. 48 rehabilitation project has reached a significant milestone, achieving 38.26% completion as of 23 November. The project, aimed at enhancing the road’s quality and overall infrastructure, is on track for its scheduled completion by the end of April 2025. This progress was updated in a recent inspection led by HE Peng Po, Minister of Public Works and Transport.

During the site inspection, Minister Peng Po, along with technical officials and representatives from the Korean construction company ILSUNG & HANIL Joint Venture and KCI & KECC Joint Venture Technical Consulting Company, focused on ensuring strict compliance with established standards. The thorough assessment aims to eliminate any potential gaps, guaranteeing a durable and high-quality road upon completion.

In addition to scrutinising the construction progress, the delegation explored the production site for AC rubber concrete, a noteworthy component in paving the road. This highlights the project’s commitment to employing innovative and resilient materials for long-lasting infrastructure.

The rehabilitation initiative spans 148 kilometres, commencing from the junction of National Road No. 4 at PK 141 + 750 (Chamkar Luong) to Khemarak Phoumin City, Koh Kong province. With a project starting on 3 January 2022 and a budget of approximately US$78 million, the venture is a testament to Cambodia’s dedication to advancing its transportation infrastructure. (Read more)
