New​​ Chip Mong Factories to Boost Cambodia’s Industrial Sector

One of Cambodia largest conglomerates, the Chip Mong Group, has showcased its ambition to lift Cambodia’s industrial sector through the establishment of two new factories.

On 7 December, 2018, Chip Mong Industries, a subsidiary of Chip Mong Group officially opened two new factories producing roof tiles and PVC pipes located in Dangkor District, Phnom Penh.

The roof tile and PVC pipes factories are built on a total land area of about 11 hectares and are capable of producing large quantities of products. The roof tile factory has the capacity to produce up to 140 sheets per minute while the PVC pipes factory can produce of up to 500 tons of pipes per month.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, H.E Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft welcome and supported the establishment of these factories citing that they will contribute to the promotion of Cambodia’s industrial sector while also boosting locally-made products.

“Furnished with modern equipment and the usage of latest technology from Europe combined with the presence of national and international experts, I hope that the products produced from these two new factories are of a high quality and reliable,” he said.

Meanwhile, Oknha Leang Khun, Chairman of Chip Mong Group, also expressed his commitment to promote the industrial sector in Cambodia.

“I hope that large-scale investment by local investors will also slightly contribute in lifting up Cambodia’s industrial sector through taking a step from being an agricultural to an industrialised country [and] reduce the import of construction materials from abroad and boost the national economy”, he said.

In addition to these two factories, Chip Mong industries also has other factory producing mixed concrete.
