Canada Introduces New Technology to Cambodia’s Construction Sector

Canadian companies Duraflex and QBT have introduced their latest technologies to upgrade the construction and irrigation sector in Cambodia. 

The technology was unveiled during the meeting between the firms’ representatives and the General Department of Technical Affairs of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology on 13 December. 

This technology will enhance the construction sector to another level by reducing construction time, lowering environmental impacts, and providing high productivity. 

The first technology is the Duraflex powder. It is a premade mortar mix that provides a stronger result without using gravel, steel and sand. 

Meanwhile, QBT has imported and distributed Xypex powder. This powder can be mixed with water and cement to create a strong concrete surface. 

HE Chhea Bunrith, Director General of Technical Affairs, said that these two products are very helpful to the construction sector in Cambodia, but still require modern machinery and equipment to effectively utilize them. 

He also requested the Ministry and the working group of the two companies to conduct a comparative study on the cost as well.
