NR71C 37 per cent completed and scheduled to be completed in October 2024

National Road No. 71C from Tbong Khmum District, Tbong Khmum Province to Chamkar Leu District, Kampong Cham Province, with a total length of nearly 115 km, completed 37%, and the project is scheduled to be completed in October 2024.

The progress of the construction project of National Road No. 71C was made during the inspection visit of HE Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, on 20 June 2022.

HE Sun Chanthol highlighted the technical construction of the road which to avoid floods due to some areas along the road being adjacent to the Mekong River, which requires the construction of a 400-meter-long bridge to prevent floods from hitting the road.

Once completed, the road will become a potential national economic line of Cambodia, which can facilitate communication, integration, and interconnection within the country and with the region, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of trade, investment, agro-agriculture, industry and tourism, especially with neighbouring countries, he said.

With a construction period of 42 months, the project is being built by Shanghai Construction Group and technically supervised by Guangzhou Wanan Company, with a construction cost of US$129.98 million.

Reminding that the National Road No. 71C was officially started on 23 November 2021, during the official opening of the Cambodia-China Stung Trang-Kroch Chhmar Friendship Bridge under the presidency of Samdec Techo Hun Sen . (Read more)
