Singapore Invests USD 400m in Cambodia Over Five Years

Over the past five years, Singapore has emerged as one of the top 10 sources of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Cambodia, with a total investment of USD 400 million, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

This significant influx of capital was highlighted at the Singapore Business Fair 2024, underscoring Singapore’s pivotal role in Cambodia’s economic development.

The investments have been channelled into key sectors such as manufacturing, real estate, and hospitality, driving substantial progress in these areas. Prominent Singaporean companies, including Keppel Infrastructure, Changi Airport International, and renowned brands like Charles & Keith, Ya Kun, and 800super, have been instrumental in shaping Cambodia’s growth trajectory.

During the opening ceremony of the Singapore Business Fair 2024, HE Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee, highlighted the critical importance of the trade and investment partnership between Singapore and Cambodia. He urged current Singaporean investors to expand their operations within Cambodia and encouraged potential investors from Singapore to explore new opportunities in the Cambodian market.
