Phase 1 of New National Stadium Complete

mso-font-width:98%”>Phase 1 of the landmark Morodok Techo National Sports Complex has been completed with construction under Phase 2 being fully funded by the Chinese government.

mso-font-width:98%”>The 100,000 capacity stadium will be the centerpiece of Cambodia’s hosting of the 32nd ASEAN Games in 2023. The Cambodian government has already committed $38 million through the NOCC for Phase 1 construction on the 85-hectare site in Russei Keo District.

mso-font-width:98%”>The Chinese are committing $100 million to the project and have been responsible for construction and management of the mega-project which is slated for completion in 2021. With work progressing fast, it is expected that the Phase 1 area will be operational by 2016.
