The ambitious project, with a total investment of approximately 1.6 billion VND, signifies a major leap forward in Cambodia’s infrastructure.

His Excellency Sin Chansereyvutha, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Secretariat of Civil Aviation, announced on May 13, 2025, that the completion of the remaining works, which primarily involve decoration and installation of signage, is underway.

“The target date for the official commissioning of Techo International Airport is July 10, 2025, pending any unforeseen changes,” HE Chansereyvutha stated. He also emphasized that Phnom Penh International Airport, commonly known as Phnom Penh Airport, will close its doors for good at midnight on July 9, 2025, transitioning all operations to the newly constructed facility.

The last flight to operate from Phnom Penh International Airport will be a Korean Air flight, marking the end of an era for one of Cambodia’s historic aviation hubs.
