Progress in Cambodia’s Systematic Land Surveying

The Cambodian government has made significant strides in its systematic land surveying initiative, completing surveys in nine provinces. According to the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMP), ongoing efforts will ensure that 16 provinces are projected to complete their surveys soon.

The provinces that have completed the systematic land surveying include Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Siem Reap, Kampong Speu, Takeo, Mondulkiri, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, and Kandal. Notably, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Siem Reap, and Kampong Speu have already held official ceremonies celebrating the completion of this critical process.

In Kampong Speu province alone, an impressive total of 1,088,095 land parcels have been surveyed. (Read more)

The Government of Cambodia is working diligently to ensure the remaining 16 provinces and capital cities complete their systematic land surveys by the end of May 2025. Alongside this effort, the government is actively issuing property ownership certificates to citizens as part of the registration process.

For landowners who have yet to participate in systematic land surveys, an opportunity remains to request registration later. Additionally, land plots currently involved in disputes will be eligible for analysis and registration once conflicts are resolved, following established procedures.

This initiative aims to enhance land ownership security and foster transparency and confidence within the Cambodian real estate market.
