Residents Near Sites of Siem Reap Road Sites Urged to Connect to State Water System

The Siem Reap Provincial Administration has urged citizens and business owners living nearby the construction sites of the 38-road renovation project to apply for connection to the state water system now or at least before the construction is complete.

According to the official announcement on 27 April, as the 38-road project also includes rearrangement of the underground wastewater and clean water system, those who have not connected to the state water system yet should request to do so now.

Once the construction is complete, the government will not allow any further digging to connect any networks.

Those who want to be connected should contact the Siem Reap Water Authority, located in Slor Kram Village, Slor Kram Sangkat, Siem Reap City.

The 38-road project has a total length of 108km and is being constructed with a budget of US$140 million. With ground broken in November last year, construction is expected to be completed by early 2022. (Read more)

The government also decided to reallocate the remaining budget from Sihanoukville’s 34-road renovation project to upgrade the sidewalks along the Siem Reap River. Another separate US$9-million budget has also been reallocated to restore rainwater and sewage systems.
